As a certified Italian Christmas lover, let me tell you about Christmas in boots. Christmas is coming. If you are learning Italian, you will want to know how to wish you all a Merry Christmas, discover Italian Christmas vocabulary and learn the most common phrases used in Italy during this special time of the year.

In the spirit of this season, we have compiled a set of Christmas cards in Italian to give to your loved ones during the holiday season. Now, let us combine what we have seen so far to make a sample Christmas card so that you can wish your loved one Merry Christmas in Italian. Speaking of tickets, this may be an opportunity to discover new Italian Christmas wishes.

This is also useful for social friends who do not celebrate Christmas but go on vacation at this time of the year. In countries/regions that do not officially celebrate Christmas but observe the Gregorian calendar, this will be a friendly greeting for the New Year’s holiday.

In Italy, celebrations usually begin on December 24, that is, on Christmas Eve. In Italian homes, preparations for Christmas begin well before December 25th. The average Italian family starts out by hanging a few wreaths in front of their front door to immerse themselves in the Christmas spirit.

But for almost all Italians, the most iconic piece of art is the Christmas tree. Since every Italian spends this holiday with loved ones, saying “Merry Christmas” is like saying “goodbye”. When it comes to greeting each other during the Christmas period, time is important to Italians.

Christmas definitely has a big meaning in Italy because it is synonymous with a long and happy vacation with family, friends and good food. Christmas is a period that makes our life sweeter and gives us the opportunity to reflect on the coming year, so as this period approaches, let’s get ready to fill our stomachs and hearts with Italian traditions and rituals. This phrase means “[Merry] Christmas” as Italians generally want the holidays to be “good” and not “fun” or “happy.” This is the most common Italian Christmas wish, but there are other ways to wish someone a Happy New Year. An informal and friendly phrase to write on Italian Christmas cards, especially for lay friends who prefer to celebrate Christmas without religious symbolism. It would be a little weird to say, but this is what people usually write about Christmas.

When greeting someone at Christmas, you are most likely referring to a friend or family member or someone you know well, in which case it is correct to use the “tee” in the above expression. This phrase is common, and if you want to send someone else wishes, adding and congratulating them on their birthday means you wish them all the best. Of all the Italian holiday greetings, this is one that can have a completely different meaning if pronounced incorrectly.
